CITIZENS’ ECONOMIC RIGHTS: HOW MUCH IS A CITIZEN’S TIME AND LIFE WORTH?

A citizen goes to the bank to transact and he is told the servers are down hence, he would have to wait. He waits the whole day and ends up achieving nothing. The bank doesn’t apologise to him. He loses his time which is his highest commodity in his trade for survival. His business suffers; his family suffers. Nobody is held responsible for the loss of his time and the bank does not think he owes the citizen some form of compensation.
Similarly, a citizen dies because  doctors are on a strike which lacks a legal basis yet the doctors’ union is not held responsible. These and more are ways the citizen’s rights are taken for granted.
As the Executive Director of Citizens’ Advocacy for Social &  Economic Rights (CASER), I have vowed to challenge this gross anomaly. There shall henceforth, be accountability for the citizens’ social and economic rights. Send reports on violations of these citizens’ rights to : citizensadvocacy@gmail.com or send sms to 08172891308- Frank Tietie
